When do Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz play in ‘The Netflix Slam’ in Las Vegas?
Earlier this month the streaming giant announced that it would be broadcasting its unique event live on its platform. Billed as the ‘Battle of the Spaniards’ the match will feature a 22-time Grand Slam winner and the man currently ranked at No. 2 in the world. Let’s get into it.
What is the Netflix Slam?
In simple form, the Netflix Slam is a special event being staged by the universally popular streaming platform. While there will be other matches played - to be announced at a later date - the event will be headlined by a match between Tennis legend Rafael Nadal and current world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“I’m honored and so happy to be sharing the court with Rafa in Las Vegas,” US Open and Wimbledon champion Alcaraz told Netflix earlier this month. “He’s an all-time great, of course, and his records and achievements speak for themselves.” His opponent echoed similar sentiments as well. “I’m very excited for my first visit to Las Vegas,” Nadal said. “I’m also very excited to be playing with my fellow countryman Carlos Alcaraz. I am sure it will be a fantastic night of Tennis.”
When and where is the Netflix Slam?
The Netflix Slam will stream live globally on Sunday, March 3rd at 3:30 p.m. ET. As mentioned above, the event will be staged in Las Vegas, Nevada, however, more specifically matches will be played at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort, with MGM Resorts International hosting.
Netflix has a special team for its Slam
Aside from the two major stars who are set to get down on the court, Netflix has also secured the services of several stars to assist off of the court. Indeed, on and off commentary as well as play-by-play analysis will be provided by the likes of Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, Jim Courier, Mary Joe Fernández, and Patrick McEnroe, as well as Tennis analyst Prakash Amritraj and host Kay Adams. There is also a treat for Spanish speaking fans as the Netflix Slam will also be streamed in that language, with Feliciano López and David Ferrer handling the job.
