Man Utd 1-0 Aston Villa: Player ratings as Bruno Fernandes earns vital win

A first half goal from Bruno Fernandes was enough to earn Man Utd a crucial win over high-flying Aston Villa on Sunday. The Villans had gone into the Game just six points adrift of Man Utd in the race for Champions League qualification, but were largely outplayed by the home side at Old Trafford. The hosts were in the ascendancy early on, with Marcus Rashford and Fernandes in particular causing the Villa backline some problems. The pair combined in the 12 minute to almost open the scoring, but after being played through on goal by Fernandes, Rashford saw his effort on goal from the left of the penalty area well smothered by Emi Martinez. The Red Devils would then come within a whisker of going ahead in the 27th minute through Casemiro. A wonderful sweeping move culminated in Casemiro being played the just inside the penalty area by Jadon Sancho. After controlling, the Brazillian side-footed an looping effort over the outstretched arm of Martinez and off the crossbar. In the 39th minut

Banks are paying savers again after many years of low rates

Banks are paying up for savers’ deposits in a much bigger way than they have in a long time NEW YORK -- Americans are finally reaping some benefit from keeping their money in the bank. Banks are paying up for savers ' deposits in a much bigger way than they have in more than a decade, based on recent earnings reports from the nation's biggest banks. After a decade of low interest rates, the Federal Reserve has unleashed a rapid series of rate hikes to combat inflation, pushing up its benchmark rate to a range of 4.75% to 5%. That has prompted banks to pay higher interest on traditional savings products like money market funds, certificates of deposit and regular savings accounts. A 24-month CD, a common savings product for medium-term savers, is now carrying an average yield of 4.81%, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. That’s up from a 1.18% yield only a year ago. Further, non-bank names such as Apple are getting into the deposit game, giving savers even more

How much the lawsuit will actually end up costing Fox is unclear because there are ways it can defray some of the expense, primarily through insurance and the use of tax deductions. Fox can deduct the Dominion settlement from
