The 2024 MLS season is creeping up on us like a stealthy forward on the pitch, and with it comes the much-anticipated SuperDraft. Time to witness the soccer world’s version of a lottery mixed with an auction.

This annual event where collegiate players are plucked from the depths of academia and thrust into the glamorous world of professional Sports is as American as apple pie and despite the rise of youth academies, this tradition still holds its ground, reminding us that sometimes the old ways are just too entertaining to let go.

MLS SuperDraft format

The team that had the worst record in the previous season gets the first pick in the SuperDraft. Toronto FC gets that honor this year as their last season was anything special. After that, we have the clubs who did not make it to the MLS Cup playoffs and those that were eliminated early in the season.
