Tonight's NHL nightcap features a Pacific Division tilt as the Los Angeles Kings host the Seattle Kraken.
These two teams just squared off earlier this week, with Los Angeles winning a close game via shootout. Will the Kings take care of business once again as favorites in the latest NHL odds, or can the Kraken get their revenge?

Saturday’s game was extremely competitive and could have gone either way and at plus-money, we are going to look at the Seattle Kraken to come out victorious in the rematch. There’s no denying the Los Angeles Kings have been one of the best two-way teams in the league this season, but the Kraken have been even stronger defensively.
At 5-on-5, Seattle ranks first in the league in expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60). The offense has not been nearly as efficient, but it could get going against goaltender Cam Talbot, who is expected to guard the cage for the Kings. Yes, he has been terrific with a 13-5-2 record and .926 SV%. However, this is a guy who posted a .898 SV% through 36 games with Ottawa last season.
While Los Angeles is a much stronger team defensively, he is still a regression candidate, which we have started to see recently as Talbot is 1-1-1 with a .883 SV% over his past three starts. Furthermore, he has struggled against the Kraken as he is 2-2 with a .894 SV% against them in his career.
Meanwhile, goaltender Joey Daccord is slated to start between the pipes across the ice and has looked sharp to begin this campaign. Through 19 appearances, Daccord boasts a .905 SV% and 2.65 GAA. With a defensively sound team in front of him, there is no reason to believe he can’t keep up with Talbot in this matchup.

Oddsmakers booked this as a low-scoring game, and for good reason. Analytically, these are the best two teams in the league as they rank first and second in xGA/60 at 5-on-5.
Daccord and Talbot have also both looked excellent thus far and typically take care of the rare high-danger scoring chances that these blue lines allow. There have now been five or fewer goals scored in four of the past five meetings between these two defensively-sound clubs.
When betting NHL underdogs, low-scoring Games are an advantage as they typically turn into coin-flips, just like we saw on Saturday. However, this time around, I think Seattle comes out on top.

Kraken vs Kings moneyline and Over/Under analysis
The Kings opened as a -192 favorite and have since been bet down to -178. While I peg the Kings as one of the strongest two-way teams in the league, the market agrees with me that a low-scoring Game will keep this contest closer than those odds indicate.
That brings us to the total, which opened at 6.5 and has been bet down to 5.5. That opening number was pretty shocking, so it makes sense it didn’t last long.
These are, analytically, the best two defensive teams in the league and the Daccord/Talbot matchup should also aid in the game staying beneath that number.
