Everton team news
Never the most active shuffler of his bench, Sean Dyche only made one substitution in the weekend's victory over Forest. Unfortunately for the Toffees, neither of the two strikers that swapped places on Saturday was Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Everton's injury-prone talisman was not risked for the trip to the City Ground as he nurses a minor muscular issue. Dyche may be inclined to turn to Beto again for fear of exacerbating Calvert-Lewin's existing problem.
Long-term absentees Dele Alli and Andre Gomes have returned to the training pitch for the Toffees but neither is likely to make Thursday's squad. Fellow midfielder Amadou Onana is also a doubt. The Belgium international may have to wait until this weekend's visit from Chelsea for his return from a calf problem.

Newcastle team news
Those on Tyneside may be tempted to turn to an old Italian expression when reflecting upon Newcastle's fitness misfortune: It rains on the wet.
Howe's side are soaked through with absentees. Goalkeeper Nick Pope became the latest to join a crowded treatment room, although he will struggle to elbow his way through the door after dislocating his shoulder against United. Looking down the barrel of a potential five-month absence, Newcastle have been offered the chance of signing former Manchester United number one David de Gea as an emergency replacement. With no deal yet completed, Martin Dubravka should line up on Thursday.
Newcastle remain decimated at full-back with Dan Burn, Matt Targett and Javier Manquillo all out. Fellow defender Sven Botman is not back in training while Elliot Anderson and Jacob Murphy will be fortunate to feature again this calendar year. Sandro Tonali is suspended until August 2024.
Howe confirmed that Sean Longstaff and Joe Willock aren't suffering "long-term injuries" but neither are expected to be back as soon as Thursday. Harvey Barnes is also inching towards a return after two months on the sidelines.

Everton vs Newcastle score prediction
Whether it's his gravelly utterances or disdain for winter clothing, there's something about Dyche that creates the perception of an impenetrable aura around his team's home ground - even when results suggest quite the opposite.
Across his final 25 Premier League Games in charge of Burnley at Turf Moor, Dyche oversaw three wins. Disregarding their deduction, Everton have earned a measly four points from seven league outings at Goodison Park this season - only one team (ironically, Burnley) have accumulated fewer.
Newcastle are not the most imperious outfit on the road but Howe's spirited squad should have enough to emerge from Everton's feeble fortress with all three points.
