Rescued Ponies Were Too Sad To Hold Their Heads Up Until They Met
Fudge and Annie, a pair of ponies with a troubled background, have been inseparable since they first met, and it appears that their misfortunes are no longer as significant in their life.
Fudge was discovered in Spain in October of last year; he had been abandoned there after being tied to a tree and appeared to have been there for some time based on his condition.
According to Easy Horse Care Rescue Center (EHCRC)
His head was placed in a bush to attempt to keep flies out of his eyes as he was tethered to a tree with no food or drink.
He had a limp because two of his vertebrae were likely shattered due to the abuse he had endured at the hands of his relatives, and his rescuers estimated his age to be around 20. He had various neurological issues as well as a severely injured eye.
After being sent to the rescue facility, Fugde started living the life of comfort and affection that every animal deserves.
On the other hand, Annie, who was rescued by EHCRC earlier this year, was exploited for breeding when she was 15 years old and was afterwards imprisoned in a filthy barn because of his advanced age.

“There are no adequate words to express his abhorrent state overall.”
Like Fudge, Annie bowed her head because, despite their best efforts to pay her attention and show her compassion, she felt threatened by their presence.
EHCRC co-founder Sue Weeding stated:
“I was really weak and on the verge of death.”
Sue was able to recognize the unique connection that developed between the two ponies when they first came into contact with one another.
